Our month in view – April to May 2020

So what have we been up to since 10th of April? … well lockdown is still on and we are still providing food.

We had a lot of paperwork to catch up on and our daily cooking was stepped down to 3-4 days a week. We still provide cooked meals and foodpacks each day and our output averages at 75 cooked meals a day. To date since inception we have delivered 2330 food packs and cooked 4895 meals. This would not be possible without donations from businesses all over Luton and our awesome volunteers who just keep going.

We have now got a good grip of our papertrail and record keeping. We have been doing a lot of cooking (see some of our cooking in the gallery on this blog post) and building a lot of infrastructure behind the scenes to support our no frills framework. We do make almost nearly daily updates on our facebook page here (opens in new tab/window)

In the last fortnight we have delivered 200 food treat boxes and made a total of 375 food drops and yesterday we made 89 food drops to homes in Luton. Today alone we cooked 122 meals of which 20 were desserts and we made 27 drops in total of food parcels either with cooked food or a combination of cooked food and dry foods

We remain thankful to everyone who has supported us and helped us on this journey of giving and prevention of food waste.
